Nursing ServicesTo most of us, home is a refuge, particularly when illness or disability strikes. The sick and elderly, especially, take comfort in familiar surroundings. But sometimes they're forced to leave their homes because they're unable to care for themselves. This trauma can accelerate their illnesses and burden loved ones with guilt. CareSouth offers a better wayOur flexible services help your loved ones to remain at home, where they're most comfortable, and receive the care they need to maximize their recovery and quality of life. We work with each patient's physician to individualize a plan of care, which could include specialized nursing, therapy to regain lost skills, or assistance with daily living. Home care costs less than hospitalization and is covered by Medicare, Medicaid and commercial insurance. And since we've passed rigorous standards that certify us as a licensed provider of home health care, we can bill directly, saving you hours of paperwork. Our staff includes skilled nurses, physical, speech and occupational therapists, certified home health aides, social workers and registered dieticians. The skilled nurse is an RN or LPN with training and experience in providing care in the home. The nurse communicates frequently with your physician to update your plan of care. Services may include evaluation of patient needs; skilled nursing procedures; education of patient and authorized family members and caregivers; self-care techniques, safety and prevention strategies; and coordination of patient care with all members of the patient's health care team. Physical, occupational and speech therapy services are provided by a licensed therapist or licensed therapy assistant under the direction of the therapist, who provides specific information about treatments and services. Home health aide services are delivered under the supervision of a registered nurse or licensed therapist. Our aides have experience and training in providing personal care in the home. Duties performed are part of your total plan of care and may include bathing, meals and other activities of daily living. The social worker provides short-term counseling services, referral and coordination with community resources and assistance with living arrangements, finances and long-range planning. The registered dietician provides evaluation of patients who are nutritionally at risk. The dietician participates with the health care team to provide assistance to the patient in meeting their nutritional healing needs. |
