Management and Evaluation Program
When unskilled services are necessary as a part of a patient's medical treatment, CareSouth's Management & Evaluation program provides skilled nursing care for oversight and intervention to coordinate and stabilize unskilled caregivers' activities. This will ensure that essential non-skilled care is achieving its purpose and will help to avoid complications in the patient's overall medical plan of care.
When to Consider Management & Evaluation
When a patient's safety in the home environment is threatened or if there are multiple caregivers, multiple medications, multiple diagnoses or multiple unskilled services in the home, CareSouth's Management & Evaluation program should be considered.
Is It Covered Under Medicare?
For Management and Evaluation service to be covered under Medicare, a Registered Nurse must manage the care plan and caregivers (rather than simply performing an evaluation). A patient must meet all other eligibility criteria for home health care in order to receive Management & Evaluation as a skilled service.
